Star Topology |
Star Topology: If all the computers in a network are connected to a central hub/switch, then it is called star topology. It is a relatively simple topology and predictably, if one wants to build a computer network very quickly and easily, one would use the star topology. In this topology, even if one computer goes down, the rest of the network remains operational. But if the central hub/switch somehow goes down, the whole network will go down. In a star topology, it is not true that the computers must be arranged in a star pattern.
